Everyday Humanitarians is a registered nonprofit organization that democratizes philanthropy by making it accessible and manageable for everyone. We collect small, regular donations and distribute them to high-impact charities addressing global issues.
We distribute 90% of your donation directly to vetted, high-impact charities focused on sustainable solutions to global challenges. We retain a 10% administrative fee to help cover the costs of running and improving the platform, expanding our reach, and keeping things running smoothly.

Yes—we retain a 10% operational fee. This helps cover essential costs like administration, tech maintenance, content creation, and outreach. It ensures Everyday Humanitarians can sustainably grow and reach more people—without relying on large grants or institutional funding. We’re committed to staying lean, transparent, and focused on maximizing impact. The remaining 90% of your donation goes directly to vetted, high-impact charities.
All donations are processed securely through Donorbox and Stripe—both trusted, PCI DSS Level 1–compliant platforms that meet the highest standards for payment security. Your financial information is encrypted and never stored by Everyday Humanitarians. We do not have access to your payment details at any time. Learn more about Donorbox security.
We select based on five key criteria: measurable impact, financial transparency, sustainability, local leadership, and global relevance. We use platforms like Charity Navigator and CharityWatch to verify impact.

Donations are currently distributed twice a year (bi-annually) to ensure we send meaningful amounts and reduce administrative fees. As our donor base grows, we aim to increase the frequency to quarterly or monthly. Each time funds are distributed, we publish a Transparency Report detailing how and where donations were allocated—so you always know the difference you’re making.
All donations are divided equally between the active charities we support. This way, your 99 cents helps power a broad range of causes with every donation.
If a charity no longer meets our standards for impact, transparency, or sustainability, it will be removed from our list of recipients. We’ll replace it with another trusted, vetted organization tackling the same issue. This way, your donations continue to support high-impact work in that cause area without interruption.
Tips and proceeds from merchandise sales help cover essential nonprofit costs and fund charitable programs, allowing us to expand our impact. These funds cover essential costs such as administrative work, website maintenance, and program development. They also enable us to grow the organization, hire dedicated staff, and increase our impact worldwide.
Everyday Humanitarians is a registered Canadian nonprofit dedicated to creating global impact by supporting top-rated charities worldwide. Although we meet many criteria for registered charity status, our international focus currently prevents us from issuing tax-deductible receipts to donors in Canada or abroad. Because we support charities across multiple countries, we do not qualify for registered charity status under Canadian tax law.
However, as our organization grows, we are actively exploring options to offer tax benefits to our donors both within Canada and internationally in the future.
We chose $0.99 to show that even the smallest amount can create big change. Using “cents” emphasizes how easy and accessible giving can be for everyone.
Currently, our focus is on micro-donations through monthly giving to maximize pooled impact, but we may offer one-time donations in the future. Stay tuned!
We only fund charities with proven, measurable results and provide regular updates on how pooled donations are used. Transparency is at the heart of what we do.
